Association

Association was a series of collaborative ventures between Nina Chua, Ying Kwok, Sarah Sanders and Jessica Longmore. It consisted of a series of provocations and invitations between ourselves, artists and the public. Our collaboration explored the boundaries, and opportunities of communication in the process of creative production. Invitations were left all over Manchester, sometimes in the form of a title, an object, an implement, an instuction, a restriction, a location, a time, an incentive...all intented to stimulate the production of collaborative works. Over the course of a year there were a series of performances, exhibitions, workshops, discussions conducted during a residency at Islington Mill, Salford, culminating in a gradually evolving group exhibition at Castlefield Gallery, Manchester.
